This project consists of acquiring a new vehicle to increase the collection and distribution capacity of the UDAM Food Bank, União de Amigos. In Brazil, approximately 27 million tons of food are wasted annually. Approximately 80% of this waste occurs during handling, transportation and at supply centers. This represents a significant amount of food that could be better used. For the UDAM Food Bank (União de Amigos), this waste is transformed into food for more than 12,000 people per month, employment and income for another 40 people and generates a positive impact on the environment. The UDAM Food Bank in RIO Claro has been operating since 2005, which consists of collecting fruits and vegetables that would otherwise be discarded, transporting them to the food bank, where they are identified, classified, washed, removed from bruises and rottenness, and vacuum-packed, under the supervision of a nutritionist, into nutritionally balanced portions. These kits are distributed free of charge to institutions, daycare centers and families in vulnerable conditions. The Udam Food Bank is a pioneer in Brazil and can serve as inspiration for other clubs or entities.

Increasing the volume of food withdrawals by approximately 40%, totaling an average of 28,000 tons of waste that would otherwise be in landfills in the future, and also making it possible to increase the number of families served, from approximately 3,000 families, to approximately 4,200 families. Considering 4 people per family, the number of people served would increase from approximately 12,000 to approximately 16,800.
